Schumer replied indignantly: "Do you think we should allow people to put pornography on the air? Absolutely not. Particularly on television or radio." Huh? No, it's NOT a joke! And he didn't stop there. Schumer nastily admonished decent Americans for some imagined hypocrisy: "The very same people who don't want the Fairness Doctrine want the FCC [Federal Communications Commission] to limit pornography on the air.... That's not consistent." It's almost beyond belief. We couldn't have made it up! Is Schumer so unhinged that he's not even capable of understanding the fundamental difference between smut and political expression? Craig Parshall, general counsel for the National Religious Broadcasters said: "I was stunned by Senator Schumer's suggestion that by keeping filth off the air, the federal government has somehow become empowered to take over the control of legitimate programming content of broadcasters." But Parshall missed one very important point. With control of the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives, Schumer and his liberal colleagues are twisting the First Amendment's guarantees of Freedom of Speech and of the Press - ALL TO SET THE STAGE TO SILENCE RUSH, HANNITY AND OTHERS. If you're a liberal, you can burn the flag, put four-letter-word bumper stickers on your car, commit lewd acts on-stage, play profane rap music loudly on your car radio, produce, rent and distribute the most disgusting filth in broad daylight and on the Internet in plain view of minors and even use taxpayer dollars to depict Jesus suspended in bodily waste. But when it comes to shutting down conservative thoughts and opinions, now that they have grabbed the reins of power, liberals are making control over the content of speech a top priority! They're plotting and maneuvering behind the scenes to make it happen RIGHT NOW! Peter Kirsanow writing in National Review Online tells us why this fight is URGENT: "Imposition of some form of the Fairness Doctrine likely will be one of the Democrats' agenda items for the first 100 days of the new administration. It's important that conservatives begin working now to stop it." Kirsanow went on: "Waiting until Inauguration Day to get geared up is too late. By that time the Fairness Doctrine Express will be at full steam- wavering Democrats will be pressed to support the new Democratic president, weak-kneed Republicans will want to display comity, the mainstream media will not be saddened to see talk radio annihilated and much of the public will be too enraptured by Obama's Camelot inauguration to notice or care." You might think it's almost beyond belief, but our Founding Fathers understood and dreaded the danger we presently face.They feared the danger to such an extent that they ratified, as the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, words they thought would be our primary line of defense against the government evolving into a tyranny that would trample on the rights of the people. When Castro took power in Cuba, he imprisoned journalists en masse and continued to do so throughout his regime, holding those who opposed him indefinitely without charges. When Josef Stalin returned from exile in March of 1917 he immediately assumed control of an underground publication founded by Leon Trotsky called Pravda (which, ironically, translates as "Truth") and made it an official arm of the Soviet Communist Party. Pravda became and remained the chief propaganda arm of the Soviet Communist Party until it was shut down in 1991 by Boris Yeltsin. Subscription to Pravda was MANDATORY. Immediately after assuming power in 1933, Adolf Hitler placed Joseph Goebbels in charge of the Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. All journalists, writers, and artists were required to register with the ministry.But this is the United States where, unfortunately, such strong-arm tactics are not necessary because liberals already control the media, EXCEPT for conservative talk radio. Kirsanow again: "Talk radio is the most important medium conservatives have. It's the only medium conservatives dominate. But liberals aren't content to have only NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, AP, Reuters, Newsweek, Time, the NY Times, Washington Post, Hollywood, etc. Stray conservative thoughts might escape into the population, you know." CNSNews quoting Senator Ben Cardin of Maryland: "The government 'has the responsibility' to make sure there are a 'variety of opportunities for people to get information,' said Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) when asked about the Fairness Doctrine at the Democratic Senatorial Committee election night party on Tuesday." Here's a quote from Senator Richard Durbin, the man who compared our brave men and women in uniform to "NAZIs," but had to begrudgingly apologize after being called on the carpet by conservative talk-radio hosts: "It's time to reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine. I have this old-fashioned attitude that when Americans hear both sides of the story, they're in a better position to make a decision." Here's Senator John Kerry attempting to advance the idiotic fantasy that conservative opinion dominates the media and liberal opinions are not heard: "I think the Fairness Doctrine ought to be there... one of the most profound changes in the balance of the media is when the conservatives got rid of the equal time requirements and the result is that they have been able to squeeze down and squeeze out opinion of opposing views." And here's Senator Dianne Feinstein equating shutting-down the opinions of the minority with fairness: "I believe very strongly that the airwaves are public and people use these airwaves for profit. But there is a responsibility to see that both sides and not just one side of the big public questions of debate of the day are aired and are aired with some modicum of fairness." Here's Cliff Kincaid with Accuracy in Media quoting the Democratic Platform; as with the statement from the Obama campaign, pay particular attention to the liberal code words: "'We will encourage diversity in the ownership of broadcast media, promote the development of new media outlets for expression of diverse viewpoints, and clarify the public interest obligations of broadcasters who occupy the nation's spectrum,' the Democratic platform says." And finally, David Limbaugh sums it all up: "The left supports campaign finance reform, the Fairness Doctrine and other policies allegedly aimed at ensuring that both sides of the political argument be aired. But it's a colossal fraud. Can you imagine what would be in store for political speech in this country if liberals resumed regulatory control of the airways? WTC Health Update
Additional Health Benefits Will be Available to Ground Zero Residents The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced on July 24th that they will offer grants estimated at $30 million over the next three years to assist NY residents who are ill due to the effect of 9/11. The funds are to include money dedicated to health screenings and assessments, health monitoring and tracking and improved access to health care services and treatments. Grants will be awarded to three health care organizations by September 2008.
NY and NJ Senators Urge Administration to Keep Top 9/11 Health Expert Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton, Charles E. Schumer, Frank Lautenberg and Robert Menendez have urged the Bush Administration to extend the contract of a key expert overseeing fererally-funded 9/11 health programs. In a letter to Secretary of Health and Human Services Michael Leavitt, the senators praised Dr. John Howard, the former Director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and called for his contract to be extended so that he can continue guiding important efforts to help the thousands of responders, residents, and others who still suffer lasting health affects as a result of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. WTC Rescue and Recovery Workers: Worker's Compensation August 14th Deadline As a reminder, the deadline for worker's compensation is fast approaching. WTC rescue and recovery personnel who worked at ground zero have until August 14, 2008 to register. The new law also allows anyone who already filed a claim - but was turned down because the claim was filed too late - to re-file. If you do not register, you will not be able to file or re-file a claim. Registering now will protect your right to file a workers' compensation claim if you become sick at any time in the future. WTC Disability: Deadline Extended for Eligible NYC Employees The deadline for eligible New York City employees to file a WTC-related Notice of Participation with their retirement systems has been extended to June 14, 2009. The WTC Disability Law provides a disability retirement benefit to eligible NYC employees who became disabled by participating in the WTC rescue and recovery operations between September 11, 2001 and September 12, 2002.

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Volunteer Speakers Program Update
Families of September 11, in partnership with Transportation Security Administration and The Camilla Group held two speaking events this month, in Charlotte and
Raleigh-Durham, NC which were attended by over 100 TSA personnel. We continue to coordinate with TSA to schedule speaking events in airports around the nation and your interest will help us decide where these events will take place. StoryCorps September 11th Initiative at the Pentagon on September 8th and 9th The National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center invites you to participate in the StoryCorps September 11th Initiative. The Memorial Museum is honored to be working in partnership with StoryCorps, one of the largest oral history projects of its kind, to collect a remembrance for each of the lives lost in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. In addition to being archived at the Library of Congress, these 9/11 remembrances will be preserved in perpetuity as a part of the Memorial Museum's permanent collection. The National September 11 Memorial & Museum is sincerely grateful to the Pentagon Memorial and Washington Headquarters Services for helping to make the StoryCorps program available to you on September 8th and 9th from 10:00 – 4:00 PM at the Pentagon. Memorial Museum and StoryCorps staff will work with you to record your remembrance, which can be up to 40 minutes long. Appointments take one hour must be scheduled in advance. NYC 9/11 Benefit Program The NYC 9/11 Benefit Program is providing coverage for those who need help. To ensure that all needs are met, the Health Department will reimburse out-of-pocket costs for mental health or substance –use treatment through a claims process similiar to any insurance benefit. Walk-in Legal Clinics Offered by WTC Medical Monitoring and Treatment Program at Mount Sinai All 9/11 responders are encouraged to register to protect their right to file for future Workers' Compensation benefits. Whether or not you have already filed a claim, whether you are sick or well, everyone is encouraged to file in case you get sick in the future. The WTC Medical Monitoring and Treatment Program at Mount Sinai is offering free walk-in legal clinics for assistance in filling out the WTC-12 form. Reform BC appreciated the opportunity yesterday of briefing some of your government's ministers and their staff on evidence found by ReformParty leaders of escrow fraud, sabotage and money laundering through various Liberal carbon-tax and cap and trade schemes.
Minister of Industry Jim Prentice was not aware that the $100 cheques representing payments of a `British Columbia Climate Action Dividend' had been drawn on the federal Receiver General for Canada account.

"Port Authority is at it again. New Yorkers are on the hook to hand over $321 million to Goldman Sachs, America's richest investment bank, because the Port Authority failed to rebuild the World Trade Center as fast as promised. Ex-Gov. George Pataki and Mayor Bloomberg approved a deal back in 2005 with hidden terms .. agreed to pay huge penalties to the firm if the Port Authority didn't complete major portions of the Ground Zero redevelopment by next year .. Albany and City Hall agreed that Goldman could keep its $161 million it owed in rent and $160 million in sales taxes that were heading into escrow accounts if two conditions were not met: - Specific blockbuster transit-and-security projects on the Trade Center footprint had to be finished by the end of next year, when Goldman's tower will be finished ... - A comprehensive security plan for downtown had to be "implemented" before 2010 .. counter terrorist plan can't be fully "implemented," as the deal requires, until the structures at Ground Zero are in place. Goldman Sachs is building its own $2.4 billion tower across from the site on West St, but thanks to this horrible failure to rebuild the WTC in time that will cost New York taxpayers, the company can now gain 64 years of free rent worth $161 million that it's supposed to pay for leasing the state land. We have evidence that KPMG and Goldman Sachs, allegedly serving as escrows for AMEC investors (notes), have conspired to sabotage assets of proxy-controlled companies and public private partnerships and impute the damage associated with acts of sabotage to events such as Hurricane Katrina or the forest fires along the West Coast and anthropogenic climate change.
With escrowed short positions inside a company or government, KPMG and Goldman Sachs investors are able to trigger lucrative cat (catastrophe) bonds and/or profit from hedge fund manipulation on the unregulated Chicago Climate Exchange set up in 2004 by Al Gore, David Blood and Canadian Maurice Strong.
We urge the federal government to track all and any escrowed transactions through the Receiver General accounts and identify all investors in the BC Climate Action Project
What is found will, we suggest, transform our knowledge and understanding of Liberal climate change fraud, international money laundering and political corruption in Canada and America.
